not your usual Cordon Bleu

My mother used to cook this for us for "merienda" (afternoon snack). We used to call it "Monte Kristo" (I dont know why) and my father called it "Pan ala Kiev" instead of chicken ala kiev. Whatever we call it,  now its my turn to cook it for my baby boy Basti..

Here's how you can make this yummy snack.
Ingredients:
Loaf bread (depending on how many you want to serve)in this case 10 slices
flour
2 beaten eggs
Japanese bread crumbs
ham, sliced into strips not longer than bread length
Sliced strips of cheese not longer than bread length
Cooking oil for deep frying

slice the cheese and ham
flatten the loaf bread (you can also use your palm.. :) )

Beat the eggs. Put the flour and bread crumbs on a different plate or bowl
Place a strip of ham & cheese in the bread.Roll bread with the strips inside.
Roll bread with the ham and cheese inside.. :)

Lightly dust the chicken with flour, dip in the egg mixture and gently coat in the bread crumbs.

Deep fry.

you can also toast it (just the way I want it)
Cut into pinwheels.

Great for snacks and parties.  HAPPY TUMMY!!! :)
