me, basti and the world: April 2013

My friend, Angel, came home from Singapore and every time she's here, we try our best to meet up. We were at their house chilling and decided to go out of town. We actually wanted to go to Boracay, but the price of the airline tickets are way way too high, so we decided to stay in Luzon. It was my idea to go to Potipot Island instead.

We left Manila at around 11:30 PM and after a couple of hours of driving we dropped by McDonald's to grab something to eat. We didn't pack anything to eat since it was a spur of the moment decision.

Before we reached Potipot (Candelaria, Zambales), we had to ask about 10 people for directions... It was dark and we didn't have any map. We were just relying on our instincts and the good people who generously gave us the right instructions.. Then we arrived at Potipot Gateway Resort, it was about 5:30 a.m.
You can also take a bus going to Sta. Cruz (tell them to drop you at Dawal in Uacon, Candelaria), go to Victory Liner in Cubao, Pasay and Caloocan. I would recommend to check the bus company for their schedule and contact number.

We opted to stay at Potipot Gateway Resort so we could park Myra's car (we were too lazy and really excited to really check out the other resorts.... :) ).

That was our boat... I was kinda nervous at first...

We ordered food from the resort. The food was good they just forgot the inihaw na liempo but we enjoyed it...It was placed in a picnic basket.. so nice.. :) but I would recommend to bring your food (still going to be cheaper)... :)

Who wouldn't love this??? This is like a hidden Boracay. I hope this doesn't get commercialized or at least they take care of the beach.

We had a little problem with my friend's engine and good thing we stopped right across a police station. Thanks to all the policemen who helped us... :)

We were all tired but it was all worth it. Potipot surely exceeded my expectations..

Dong A Pilipinas recently held an art workshop at Robinsons Place Manila. Luckily,we were there because Basti was at Fridays. This is another great activity for kids this summer. If you happen to be in a mall and there's an activity especially for kids, don't hesitate to let your kids join. :) its fun... and most importantly.... its FREE!! and you get to learn a thing or two/ Plus go home with freebies. :) You don't need to have plenty of cash in your wallet to enjoy... :) as they say, sometimes the best things in life are FREE..... :)
