It's the most wonderful time of the year............ for students...

I remember the many sleepless nights I had because I was too excited for our field trip. Each school year we would marvel on where we will go.. Now it's my son's turn. A normal kid would be hard to wake up right?? but it was different that morning when I tried to woke him up at 5:00 am. I just called his name once and suddenly standing up like a statue he said "See mom, I woke up! You know why? Because I am not really sleeping". OK fine.. I got your point so I asked him to take a shower and surprisingly, He didn't argue with me on anything.. (I wish everyday is a FIELD TRIP day... :) )

We arrived at the school 30 mins before the call time, registered and jumped on our designated bus. The next 30 mins or so was spent on waiting for the others to arrive.

Our first stop was Paradise Ranch. Located in Sacobia Valley Clark (Sub Zone of Clark the former giant US Air-force Military Base)

While on our way to our first activity, we saw an obstacle course and we let the kids go down and enjoy the "nakakapasong araw"  . It's also ideal for team buildings and corporate outings.

Basti enjoyed feeding fish. I even gave him my pellets... :) 

After feeding the fish, we were asked to go to the conference hall to experience the Aeta culture. During the show the host informed us who they were, what Paradise Ranch is all about, and what their advocacy was. Paradise Ranch is a non-profit organization and they promote environmental conservation and also provide jobs especially for the Aetas in the area. If I'm not mistaken, they have planted about 300,000 trees.

Tribal show 

Paradise Ranch was very generous. Aside from the presentations, they provided prizes for those who participated in the tribal dance. :) After the show, we went to Butterfly Kingdom.

Saw this dead butterfly while tying Basti's shoelace. :(

 We didn't see much butterflies inside the Butterfly kingdom.. :( I was kind of sad because I was expecting lots of butterflies.. The kids were just running around and playing. We didn't stay long and left to go to feed the ostrich.

At first Basti was scared because one of the ostriches was a little aggressive, so I asked him to go to the other ostriches. It was fun. Paradise Ranch provided gloves to prevent direct contact of the skin in case the ostrich will peck.

 Milk feeding Php 20.00. This was the first time that we tried feeding milk to animals.. :)

Nayong Pilipino used to be in Paranaque.. I remember going there every time we go to the airport waiting for our family to arrive... :)

Basti's lunch

After eating and walking around, we watched their cultural show.

 I never thought that Malong ("tube skirt") can be used in so many ways..

After the cultural show, we headed back to our bus then went to Puregold duty free and then back to Manila...  so tired... but it was a memorable day... :)
